As you know, we have been sponsoring and trading at the Amateur Show since it started and I must say that this was the best one yet from a competitors point of view as well as a trader. ASSOCIATE DRESSAGE DAY held Saturday 14 August 2010

On Saturday 14th August the NSW Arabian Horse Association ran its first Open Snaffle Bit Dressage Day at Hawkesbury Riding Club grounds, Clarendon. Thankfully the weather was cool, a little windy at times, but quite pleasant.
This was run to provide, what the Association sees, as a much needed event to encourage people to bring their horses out to ride in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and to enjoy the day with their horses.
Twelve Tests were run ranging from Prep 1 for ponies to Elementary for open horses.
The day was very well supported by, both purebreds and derivatives from our registry. It was also lovely to see ponies and horses that we would not normally see at our shows. It was a pleasure to see so many riders enjoying their horses, competitors ranged from children riding their first ever tests, a “mature” male adult who had only been riding for six months, through to a lady rider who had not ridden in a Dressage test for 41 years (and she placed 3rd in her test) well done!
It was an enjoyable day that Jan Nichols put a huge effort into to organizing and running together with the dedicated help of Lesley Dowey and Lisa Bloch, NSWAHA Committee members, and volunteers.

We hope to run another event in the autumn of 2011 and welcome your feedback, comments and suggestions for this.

ARABIAN SEMINAR
Our first Arabian Breed Seminar, although only a small number of people attended, was a success. Thank you to all who supported the event, we will be running another next year at around the same time (April/May). Congratulations to Les, Greg and Deb for a day well run, and a big thank you to Chris and her husband for running the BBQ.
